Day 13 on the Camino Frances, Najera to Ciruena
Today Laura and I parted ways. She had to go back to work in Seattle, and I continued on the Camino. We headed back over the bridge in Najera, past the park where the festivities took place the night before.
The route continued on through the town of Najera, alongside a paved hiway, through vinyards, and up a hill to a group of soviet style government built apartments, apparently empty. There are parks, a pool, and tennis court, and I heard it was now a summer resort town for city people. It was totally not endearing, totally hot and shadeless. I stayed in a B and B, and found food at a local bar. I could not wait to get out of that dead town. It has nothing to offer visually or culturally, as far as I could tell.
