Boulder Lake, Pioneer Range of Idaho

The Pioneer Range of Idaho has some wonderful lakes, none of them too hard to reach. A great one is Boulder Lake, which is about a 4 mile hike with 2200’ elevation gain. This Boulder Lake is in the Pioneers, and there are also Boulder Lakes in the McCall area, and in the White Clouds.

To get there one heads east from Ketchem past the Sun Valley Resort, and over Trail Creek Summit. Continue on to Wildhorse Creek Ranch at about 23 miles from Ketchem, turn right off the main road to Wildhorse Creek, and at 7.7 miles the trailhead is at Wildhorse Campground.
