Driving the Camino, Pamplona, Day 7

From St Jean we drove over the Pyrennes at Roncessvalle, and on 30 miles or so to Pamplona, and checked in to a nice apartment in the old town. Every town or city in Spain has an “old town”, with narrow streets and buildings 4-6 stories tall. They were generally crowded inside defensive city walls, and the compactness was driven by lack of space for expansion. Now many of these apartments are for rent, and the location is generally close to old town shops and cafes.

Pamplona is famous for the running of the bulls, as depicted in this downtown scrupture.

Near Pamplona on the Camino is the Alto de Perdon, a sculpture depicting medieval pilgrims.
